How do I use the Visitors tab in Session Recording results to browse visitors?
In this help, we'll explain how to use the Visitors tab to:
- Use the visitor list
- View details about individual visitors
- Export selected visitors
Use the visitor list
The list of visitors is the main feature of the Visitors tab. These are are all the people who were recorded while visiting your website and who also match the filter selected above. You can create complex visitor filters based on the properties of visitors, their sessions and their activity. By default, the list displays everyone. Each visitor's entry contains:
- The visitor's number and icon. The icons are randomly generated and serve only for easier identification of visitors
- Number of matching sessions - How many of the visitor's sessions match the current SmartSearch filter. By default with not filter, that means all of the user's sessions.
- Visitor selection via a checkbox. Selected visitors are highlighted and can have their data exported in a CSV file
- Play last session - click the play_circle_outline button to replay the visitor's last session. Last session means the visitor's most recent session that matches the filter above
- Last visit - When visitor's last session ended
- First visit - When visitor's first session started
- Total sessions
- Total pageviews
- Total events
- Total time - The length visitor's all sessions
- Total active time - Active time is the time that the visitor spent actively interacting with the site
- Location - The country where the visitor's last session came from
- OS - The operating system that the visitor was using during their last session
- Browser - The browser that the visitor was using during their last session
By default, the visitors are ordered their relevance to the current SmartSearch filter. You can change their order by selecting a different sorting metric in the Sort by dropdown list above the visitor list. Click the arrow buttons to change between ascending (arrow up) and descending (arrow down) order.
View details about individual visitors
To view more information about the visitor, click More details beneath the visitor's entry. In the header of the modal window, you can then press Previous and Next to move between visitors. There are two tabs in the detailed visitor modal view with the following contents:
