How do I use the Export tab in Card Sorting results?
Here, you can generate PDF reports for presenting the results of your study, or CSV exports for external data analysis. Some larger export may take longer to generate. You will receive a notification once an export has finished generating. You can re-download a previously generated export by clicking the export list on the page's top bar. Generated exports expire after two days.
In this help, we'll explain how to use the Export tab to:
- Generate PDF reports from your study
- Generate CSV reports from your study
- Use export options to create custom reports
Generate PDF reports from your study
After you pick PDF exports, you can pick which sections of your study's results you wish to generate a PDF export from. Each section is the equivalent of a section of results as seen in the web application. Available result sections include:
- Overview
- Respondents
- Details
- Questionnaire
- Card sort
- Comments
- Analysis
- Questionnaire
- Cards
- Categories
- Standardization grid (open & hybrid Card Sorting)
- Similarity matrix (open & hybrid Card Sorting)
- Dendogram (open & hybrid Card Sorting)
- Respondent-centric analysis (open & hybrid Card Sorting)
- Results matrix (closed Card Sorting)
- Popular placements matrix (closed Card Sorting)
The selection of sections to export is only available if there's at least one respondent to export.
Generate CSV reports from your study
After you pick CSV exports, you can pick from the following types of exports:
- Respondents
- Questionnaire
- Raw results
The Respondents export contains a list of respondents with the following information:
- Order
- Identifier
- Started
- IP
- Device
- Operating system
- Browser
- Location
- Time taken
- Answered questions (percentage)
- Cards sorted (percentage)
- Categories created
- Categories named (percentage)
The Questionnaire export contains the respondent's answers to questions in the questionnaire, including a justification on the answer, if any was given. In the case of full-text questions, the answers include the original and the grouped answer (in the case that answers were grouped by similarity). For convenience, the answers from all types of included questionnaires (screening question, pre-study questionnaire, post-study questionnaire, after-task questionnaires) are split into separate CSV files.
The Raw results export contains data on how cards were sorted. For each sorting represented by a row, it contains the following:
- Respondent ID number
- Card ID number
- Card title
- Raw (unstandardized) category ID number
- Raw category title
- Standardized category ID number
- Standardized category title
- Order in category
The selection of sections to export is only available if there's at least one respondent to export.
Use export options to create custom reports
In export options, you can determine which users and settings are used when generating a report.
- Everyone included in analysis - The default option. All respondents that are included in analysis are included in the report. The respondents used to calculate what you seen in analysis in the web application, will be used to calculate the report.
- Apply current filters and presets - Toggled by default. This option allows you to use the same filters (e.g. respondent filter in the Respondents tab) and options (e.g. options in Respondent-centric analysis) so that what you see in the web application will appear in the report. If you toggle this option off, the report will use default filters and options.
- Everyone who completed (all complete results) - Calculate the report from all respondents who completed the study, a.k.a. all respondents who are included in analysis by default.
