How to use General step to start setting up your User Panel Recruiting

In this help, we'll discuss how to use the General setup to:

  • Choose the title of your recruiting
  • Select the study for recruiting
  • Select the research topics
  • Keep notes on recruitment

Choose the title of your recruiting

  • Participants don't see the recruiting title displayed anywhere
  • Use a title that helps you identify the panel on the dashboard

Select the study for recruiting

This is where you select the study that you wish to recruit for by using the User Panel. You can choose from the existing studies available in your team. More than one User Panel can be used to recruit for the same study.

All UXtweak study types (except the Session Recording which records data from actual users) can be selected for recruiting. You can select a study that is still just a draft. However, before you launch the recruiting, you will have to launch the study as well.

The study type affects the price of your recruiting. Simpler studies such as Survey have lower price of recruiting than the more complex studies such as Website Testing or Prototype Testing, since more complex studies are more difficult for participants to understand and complete.

After you place an order by launching your panel, we will conduct an audit of your study to make sure the study is set up correctly and that it doesn't contain any prohibited content.

The following types of content are prohibited in studies that use the User Panel for recruitment:

  • Explicit, offensive or illegal content - The contents of your study should be in line with what can be shown on daytime television.
  • Collection of personal information - For example, the panelists' names, email addresses and IP addresses can't be collected.
  • Recruitment - You cannot recruit panelists for any other activity aside from the study itself.
  • Topic mismatch - Your study should match the panel topic. See Select the research topics.
  • Localization mismatch - Study messages must be in the same language as the native languages of the country that you selected in your panel or English.
  • Bad study design - A study may be rejected on the grounds of bad design (e.g. too many free text questions).

In addition to the above, the following features will be automatically disabled in your studies for the respondents recruited by the User Panel.

  • Automatic finishing of the study either by date or number of participants
  • Identification
  • Password protection

Select the research topics

When creating your User Panel, you will be asked to select at least one of the following research topics to describe what your study is about:

  • Food, Groceries
  • Education
  • Finance, Banking
  • Smoking, Tobacco
  • Automotive
  • Home
  • Pets
  • Health, Nutrition
  • Travel, Hospitality, Tourism
  • News, Media, Publishing
  • Sports, Recreation
  • Government, Politics
  • IT
  • Telecommunication
  • Other
  • Internet, E-commerce
  • Gambling, Betting, Lottery
  • Cosmetics, Personal care, Toiletries
  • Fashion, Clothing
  • Child, Parenting
  • Beverages - alcoholic
  • Beverages - non alcoholic
  • Entertainment
  • Shopping, Retail
  • Work related, Human resources
  • IHUT
  • Electronics
  • Healthcare

You may adjust the research topic later. Before you place your order, please select the topic (or topics) that fit your study best. The study topic is important for the participant selection process (to prevent our panelists from being oversaturated by too many studies on similar topics). A badly selected topic may lead to delay in launching your recruitment until the problem has been fixed.

Keep notes on recruiting

The notes provide you with an opportunity to store additional information about the recruiting.

Example uses for notes:

  • Details about targeting
  • Current phase of the recruiting process
  • Hypotheses you are trying to confirm with this batch

Your notes can be edited after you have started the recruiting process. The notes are not shown to the participants at any point.
