What is Between-Subjects Design?

A between-subjects design is a research method where participants are divided into separate groups to test different conditions of a variable. For instance, in a usability study, you could have 80 participants where each one is randomly allocated to either site A or site B. This method is often compared and contrasted with the within-subjects design, where the same participants are used across all testing conditions.
